Christmas Vacation

We made it to Michigan last night at around 7:30ish their time. Today we woke up to howling winds and a complete white-out of snow! We made it to church and then came home for lunch. Then we went out to the farm where my Aunt, Uncle, and cousins are going to stay. We made the beds and cleaned up for them. Then we decorated their tree and hid rubber snakes and lizards around their bathroom. Driving back to my Grandparent's house was really scary because we couldn't see anything. Later today we are probably going to make Christmas cookies later today.

Thanksgiving Break!

I took my Drivers' Test today and guess what?!?!?!

I PASSED! I only got nine points off! And I didn't have to parallel park at all. :) I thought it was a lot easier than I imagined it to be. The only bad part was that we had to spend 2 and 1/2 hours at the DMV since our tests were an hour apart. I was sooooo hungry and crabby when I got home!

We are on break right now for Thanksgiving. We have today, Thursday, and Friday off of school. I am so happy. I have two birthday parties and a get together with some friends I haven't seen in a while. I would like to go and see a couple of movies this weekend also. Tonight I am getting my hair cut. Probably just a trim, though, nothing drastic. Ok, I am going to stop typing now.
Oh btw we went to Copps today but Megan wasn't working...sadness

Yippee Skippee

Wow I haven't posted in a while...
This week I have a lot of quizes/tests. We start bowling in gym...yay (note my sarcasm). Rachel (my partner) can't bowl because her arm is still kinda messed up and she broke her nose over the weekend so she is in a lot of pain. We played ping-pong today and that was fun. This week is the school play which Hannah and Jessica are both in. I think I am going on Friday night but I'm not completely sure. It should be good.
I have my last drive-time on Saturday and my test is looming ever closer!! :-/ I'm really scared!

4 Day Weekend!

Yay! This weekend we had Thursday and Friday off so we had a long weekend. It was lots of fun. On Thursday we met Hanna at the mall early so we could do some shopping. After going to a ton of stores I ended up with a pair of jeans from American Eagle and a shirt from Maurices. I love them both, but especially the shirt because it is stripey! :) On Friday we were going to go to a movie with Nina but this weekend doesn't work. Oh, well. I guess I'll just have to see it later. I really want to see two movies actually, The Final Season and 3:10 to Yuma. So Friday Mom had Cormac and we just did stuff at home and wend grocery shopping. Then Saturday I wasn't feeling all that great, so I stayed home and read/listened to music (I got an awesome new CD on itunes)/watched television. Today I had church and then we ate an early lunch. I think we are going to paint our Living Room sometime in the very near future so we may be getting paint and moving furniture sometime today.

Homecoming Weekend!

This weekend our school had its Homecoming weekend. The theme was 50 Golden Years since it is the school's 50th birthday. Kinda cheezy theme, huh? Well anyways the parade was canceled because of "bad weather". It was really sunny and only rained for about a minute. Erin and Leah picked us up on Friday night and we went to the football game. It was fun. Nobody was sitting and everyone was talking and goofing around. It is more of a social than sporting event. When we left, MHS was losing 35 to 14. They have only won one game I think throughout this whole season. It is kind of pathetic actually. Saturday Paula and I just hung out and waited until 5:00 when Nina and Hanna came over to get ready for the Homecoming Dance! It was a blast. I am proud to say I did Hanna's hair very well (with a little bit of Nina's help at the end!) We got to the dance fashionably late which was okay because the only people who get there on time are the stupid freshman who don't know anything about prober Dance ettiquette (I know I'm mean.) It was super loud and they played mostly rap music, but other than that it was okay. I danced with a boy :-P (Ok, it was Mitch, but he's still a boy...) And we met Erin and Leah's German Exchange Students. They are so nice but I think the dance overwhelmed them a little bit. Jessica brought her friend from North, Kayla, who is also really nice. I got home at 11:30 pm and crashed.

Ugh!

School started on Wednesday. It went okay for the most part. I like all of my classes except for Civics. If this explains anything, we have six football players in our class. Oh, and about 3 or 4 druggies. The teacher is nuts. That is probably all I need to say about it. But German, Orchestra, and AP Lang and Comp are great!
Finally it is the first weekend! This morning we went to the Farmer's Market with my mom and got a bunch of fruit and veggies and other yumness. :P Later today we are probably going to get together with Erin and Leah to get everything ready for the Fall Festival next Saturday! :) I am excited for that.

Lost and Found

Yippee! Paula found my ipod yesterday! I thought it was gone for good.

I haven't posted in a while because I've just been so dang busy. Tennis started (obviously) so I have had matches twice a week and practice every day. It is going great. Erin and I have only lost 2 matches as a doubles team which is pretty good for this season. We got to see varsity play at one of our matches and that was pretty sweet. I've been juggling my social life around tennis and other randomness so sorry if I haven't talked to you in a while. What with school shopping, last minute get togethers with friends, AP Lang and Comp homework, getting ready for the Fall Festival, and organizing a movie night (it WILL happen eventually, Megan!!) I have had little time to do fun things. Tomorrow is 1/2 off at Savers for the Labor Day sale so Paula are going bright and early to hunt out some bargains. On Tuesday we are planning a half-day trip to Menomenie's bead store with Erin and Leah before our tennis match. Hopefully we'll be done with that by 10:30 at the earliest so we can get to bed for school on Wednesday. AHHH!!

silly pictures, improv, and more tennis...

On Sunday Paula and I spent the afternoon jumping off of a picnic table at Erin and Leah's house onto a trampoline and taking pictures of ourselves in mid-air. It was so much fun. THis picture on the left is the best one of me that was taken. After we were done making fools of ourselves we went to Boyd Park where some of the MHS graduates from the improv team were doing a free improv show. It was one of the funniest things that I have seen in a long time. Their best game was one that they made up an hour before the show (or so they said) called Singing/Not Singing. They would start a skit and then at random intervals throughout the skit one of the team members would start playing music on a keyboard and the people in the skit would have to start singing. It was hysterical! I was laughing sooo hard. Oh, for those of you who are taking AP Lang and Comp, we saw Mrs. Nelson there! She got to meet us and we got to meet her. She is super nice and I bet we'll have a good time in that class. We have also been really busy with tennis. We've had two matches in the past four days. Erin and I have lost only one of the four matches that we've played together. I haven't had a chance to play singles yet, luckily. (I hate singles!)

Tennis Season

The tennis season started today for school. After waking up early from a horrible night's sleep, I took a shower (mistake number 1) and got ready to leave. When we got to MHS we had to sit around for about fifteen minutes and wait for the coaches to be ready. By that time I was feeling kind of sick. It was really hot and muggy outside. When the coaches finally showed up we got out onto the courts to warm up. We hit for a while and then did drills for groundstrokes first. Then we rotated and did volleys and ended with serving. I am hopefully going to make JV1 this year. I have been on JV2 for the past two years so hopefully this year is my year! I came home and had to take another shower since I was literally dripping with sweat. Now I'm exhausted. Hopefully tomorrow's practice won't be as bad.

Wally, Watermelon, and Haircuts!

Yesterday Paula and I were eating watermelon on the front steps and Wally came outside where we were. Paula thought it would be funny to let him eat off her watermelon and I took a picture of it! :) Awww he's so cute! Anyways, I've had a pretty good couple of days back home. Yesterday I went to Borders and picked up a giftcard aswell as previewed a couple of books. Then we went to Michael's so Paula could get some plastic mesh stuff to finish knitting her newsboy style hat. Then I got my hair cut. The picture below is what it looks like. I got long bangs! The picture's not the best, but you can still see what it looks like. After that I had a violin lesson and then I went to try out a German violin that they lady I'm renting the one I have now from just got in. I'm hopefully going to buy one this summer. I have a favorite already. It's Italian but it is used and was cracked at one time. The tone quality is AMAZING though! Then after that Paula and i biked to play tennis with Erin and Leah. Season starts next week! Yikes!

CSI Exhibit

We just got back from our trip to Ohio. Paula describes the trip in her blog, but I wanted to talk about the CSI exhibit that we went to in Chicago on the way down. We got to solve a murder case and do all of the things that a CSI would. It was sooo cool! The case that I was "assigned to" was a car that went into a living room. The first thing we did was document the crime scene and then we got to "go to the lab" and check finger prints and DNA. It was awesome. We solved it right, too! I also got a pretty awesome t-shirt that has the CSI logo on it!

Harry Potter 7

We just finished the HP7 book ! It is a tradition that we read all of the HP books out loud so that is why it took us so long to finish it. I thought that it was amazing, though some parts got on my nerves. Let me know when you finish it so I can hint to some more of the plotline. I don't like spoilers.
We leave for Ohio on Thursday but will be back on Sunday. On the way down we are going to stop at the CSI exhibit at the Chicago Science Museum. I am really excited!

<---Yesterday we had Erin and Leah over and did Henna tattoos! This is what mine looks like before all of the black stuff fell off. It is supposed to be tannish orangish colored.

Today we dont' have summer orchestra! Yay! Hopefully I will be able to go and see the Harry Potter 5 movie tonight with my family. THE BOOK COMES OUT TOMORROW! (or tonight at midnight!) I am really excited!

Today we had our last day of summer orchestra. I am sad and glad at the same time. It was growing on me. I met a couple of new people from North and just incoming freshman. It looks like we are still going to be pretty good this year. (It will be sad, though without Rebecca!) I had a violin lesson yesterday though, so it was like an overdose on orchestra.

Tomorrow we are hopefully going to see the HP5 movie. Maybe we'll nip into the midnight party for the HP7 book and then on Saturday we are going to wait at home for the book to come! Yay! I am really excited!

It's a beautiful day!

Today we took Wally swimming in the creek since it was so hot. Paula and I brought the digital camera so we ended up taking a bunch of silly pics. ^Ok, so this is Wally in the water.

Yesterday my dad, Paula, and I went roller blading in our neighborhood (if you could call it that). It was really funny (but really hard on my butt muscles).

Later today we might go see a movie or something, I don't know yet. We got a new DVD player so we might just hang out at home and watch a movie here.

Life in the big E.C. is pretty boring right now. I got my AP test scores (yippee skippee for me)! Yesterday I got together with some friends and we watched a couple movies. Then Paula and I biked to SMS to play tennis with Erin and Leah. It was really fun! They gave us these amazing candies from Costa Rica! :) I am reading The Bourne Identity right now and I LOVE IT! It is sooo good and I highly recommend it!

Home At Last

Hey Everybody!
We made it home from Michigan okay and all in one piece after a full day of driving...ugh! It wasn't that bad and Paula and I passed the time mostly listening to cds, Paula's ipod, and the Newsies soundtrack. It was almost fun for a long car trip.
Ok, now I'm going to go off on a long tangent about the trip. We had sooo much fun!
Saturday: In the car aallllll day!
Day 1: Sunday: We got up early to get ready for church. After church we hung out with family and then went to the beach later that day. The waves were huge! We body surfed with my cousin, Olivia (age 10).
Day 2: Monday: On Monday it was colder so we didn't go to the beach. We hung out at home and visited my cousin Molly where she worked at the Trick Dog.
Day 3: Tuesday: Still too cold to go swimming. Tuesday we went to Story Hour (my aunt works at the Library and does this for younger kids) with my two younger cousins. Paula and I mainly looked at books. Then we went back to my grandma's and hung out with family some more. We took our two younger cousins canoing in the bay across the street from my grandparent's house We slept over at my cousin's house and giggled and had a really great time!
Day 4: Wednesday: Happy 4th of July! Today we woke up and ate pancakes before heading out to the parade. We went back to my Grandma's to eat candy and have a big picnic lunch. Later on we went to my aunt and uncle's house so we could walk to the fireworks on the beach.
Day 5: Thursday: It was finally warm enough to go to the beach! My aunt, uncle, and cousin from my dad's side of the family came down for a visit so we got to see them that evening.
Day 6: Friday: We went to the beach again for most of the day. We got icecream like we had every other day this week (I don't think I mentioned that before) and we got T-shirts from the CSA building.
Day 7: Saturday: The last day...We had a bridal shauer for my Cousin's fiance, Sarah. It was super fun despite the bat that swooped around our heads and sending panic through a lot of the guests. (Grandpa came and took it out). Then my cousin took us to the beach again!
Sunday: In the car aallllll day!

Sorry if I bored you with this long narrative about the trip! :) Actually I take that back, I'm not sorry! :D

Happy 4th All!

Happy Fourth of July to Everyone! Today we went to the parade downtown and got tons of candy even though we're old. (It helps when teenage boys are the ones that are throwing it...) We had a sandwich buffet for lunch and Grandma made potato salad. Now we are having an Apples to Apples tournament.
Later tonight we're going to my aunt and uncles' house to walk down to the fireworks on the beach. I'll have to take pictures of that because it is soooo cool up there. Unfortunately it is really wet and rainy out so hopefully it will dry up in time for the fireworks. It is supposed to. Hopefully it will dry up enough for us to go to the beach tomorrow.

Michigan

Hey we made it to Michigan on Saturday. Sunday was pretty uneventful. We went to church and then we went and visited my cousin at the Trick Dog where she works. After that we came home and then ate lunch. We went to the beach around 4ish and body surfed because it was really windy so the waves were HUGE! We topped off the day with a huge monopoly tournament (my dad won.)
Today we got up early and walked downtown with mom and dad. We got a ride back with my Aunt and came back to my Grandparents' house for lunch. Then we took my Grandpa's canoe out and paddled across the bay to visit the Trick Dog and the Library (where my aunt works) before paddling back. We played Mexican Train Dominoes with my cousins, Grandma, and mom. I'll have to post some pictures of us canoing once we get home (or when I figure out how to get them from the camera to my Grandparents' computer.)

Wahoo!

Hey, we leave for Michigan in THREE DAYS! I am really excited. Tomorrow my mom has Cormac so we probably won't be doing much Erin and Leah are getting back from Costa Rica so on Friday we are going to Ocean's Thirteen with them! YAY! :) I am really excited. We played tennis tonight with my mom and that went really well. Hopefully we will be able to play against our cousins when we go to MI. Hopefully we'll start working again soon because I am in desperate need of $$.
